Connected presents: Ultimate Vocals / Vengeance Studio Vocals - Frequently Asked Questions:
What Do You Mean With BPM?
Beats Per Minute. It’s the tempo you use in your sequencer (e.g. Logic, Cubase, Cakewalk). If you set your sequencer in the BMP that corresponds with the song of your choice, the vocals will fit in the tempo of your track.
What do this Letters and Numbers mean? A#(4) C#(4) B(2) C(2) (ONLY FOR ULTIMATE VOCALS)
For example A#(4) :
B stands for the key of the bassline
(4) stands for the number of bars (or beats) that this bassline should maintain
# stand for the key + one halve note up (always a black key on your synthesizer/keyboard).
Check your official Ultimate Vocals booklet for BPM and bassline key details
Why does this sample CD consists of 2 parts (PART 1 (Songs) / PART 2 (Snippets)? (ONLY FOR ULTIMATE VOCALS)
To make a distinction between the songs (PART 1- Set A, B, C and D) which are NOT author free and the Vocal snippets (PART 2) which are author free. For the songs in PART 1 you have to give author credit as stated in the booklet with each song – for the snippets not.
Do I have to pay royalty’s by using samples from “Ultimate Vocals”? (ONLY FOR ULTIMATE VOCALS)
All sections (First and Second section) of "Ultimate Vocals" are royalty free. That means that all the royalty's you'll receive from your record company are 100% for you.
However, the songs from the first part of the CD are not author free, which means you have to give full credit to the original writer as stated in the booklet that comes with your copy of "Ultimate Vocals".
Since you make the music for the song, there is always an equal split between you (as composer) and us (as writer). Please see next question for how to do this.
